My first novel, Count Me In, is about a young teenager, Katie, whose parents are divorced.  She feels like a dinosaur, the only relic left from their marriage.  She lives with her mother and step father; her mother is expecting a new baby.  Her father has built a new life for himself in the city and Katie can't imagine fitting in there.  She wonders where she will fit in when the new baby arrives.

My second novel, Friends First, explores the friendship of Miranda and Gus, best friends since they were young.  They are writing a story together, trading back and forth.  Gus, who likes science fiction, creates an alien who has come to earth.  Miranda, who likes to read teenage novels, tries to turn the story into a romance.  Will their friendship last now that they are teenagers?
