I began my career as a children’s librarian at the New York Public Library. After moving to Boston I taught in the Brookline School system, at both the high school and the elementary school level. At present I am the librarian at the Edward Devotion School in Brookline.
I have written ten books for children and young adults and from time to time I write articles about children’s books for the Horn Book Magazine. My three children are grown now but still give me inspiration. I live in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts.
When school is out I spend my time in Northern Vermont where I watch the cows and clouds, grow vegetables, go kayaking and write.
